Similarity and Right Triangle Trig

We will be combining bits of Chapter 7 with other parts of Chapter 9.  Similarity is a big topic that spreads its ideas over many other parts of mathematics (just like transformations!) so we will be spending quite a bit of time on it.

Quadratics Unit (remember last year ?)

The quadratics questions on the Year Opener did not go so well - we review.  There will be periodic, unannounced exit tickets to see how the review is going.  Keep up with your homework and ask questions in class!  If there are still difficulties, there may be more days of practice and the schedule will be pushed a bit.  A quiz may be added if the unit is getting very long.

First work

Welcome to Math 2B/3A.  This year we will finish the Math 2 book (mostly quadratic functions, similarity, right triangle trig, area and volume) and start the Math 3 book (mostly polynomials, series and statistics).  There is a lot of variety in the topics and I hope you find them interesting.  I am here to help so please make sure you ask questions in class and/or come see me outside of class if you are having difficulty.

I have two sections of this class: B-Block and F-Block.  The syllabus listed is for B-Block.  The only difference for F-Block is that the listings for Tuesdays happen on Wednesdays.

The first quick unit is a review of exponents and radicals.
